Purchase roundup (February 2017)

February was a month of up and down weather here in NYC.  My company closed down their site during the first week due to an expected snowstorm.  A few days ago it hit 70 degrees and is expected to again tomorrow.  My first winter in New York has been pretty mild: a bit colder than an Arizona winter, but MUCH warmer than a Minnesota winter.

My February purchases

Clothing:

  • Patagonia nano puff jacket (for winter hiking).  This jacket is amazing, I cannot stress this enough.  It’s so warm and comfortable.  Patagonia is a great brand for petites because the size runs down to XXS!

  • Duluth Trading Company firehose pants.  These were for my husband who was doing a volunteer opportunity in a kitchen.  If you ever need super durable pants that can withstand almost anything, these are the ones.  They also have a quality guarantee so you can return at any time the pants fail you (which they won’t).

Beauty:

  • Bioelements Facial Brush.  This is a more budget-friendly alternative to the Clarisonic.  A facial brush will help loosen the grub in your pores as you clean it (great to use in the shower).

That jacket looks amazing, and so warm and functional! Minnesota sounds soooo cold- I thought Seattle was cold 🙁

I grew up in Minnesota. The only time work was ever canceled was when it was -40 windchill…and I lived in the bottom half of Minnesota which is much warmer than northern MN. Wind so cold it hurts your face 🙂

It’s one of the best things I own, hands down. I should do a review on it. First of all, the fit is perfect for me, it fits like a glove. It has a little pocket inside for maybe a credit card or house key. It is very thin and lightweight which is amazing for hiking/backpacking BUT it is amazingly warm! It’s SO comfortable. There is one with and without a hood (I got hoodless).

WoW! I didn’t realize Patagonia carried an XXS. That would be the perfect size for me

YES! Patagonia is great for petites. They are hard to find sometimes though and certain items do not run XXS, but definitely check them out! I’m going to do a post just on Patagonia soon!! I love them.

Great kitchen items are amazing and it’s nice to have variety – it can get tiring just to shop for clothes!
