The petite struggle
Have you heard of Outdoor Research? I’m always on the lookout for new brands that fit petites. It’s not so easy. People always think we can just buy children’s sizes without realizing that children’s clothes aren’t just smaller: they fit differently. Little girls don’t have developed hips so their clothing doesn’t account for that kind of body shape and they tend to have a higher waist. Trust me, it’s just usually not flattering.
A new brand discovered!
So today I was strolling through REI just browsing the clothing on sale. I plan to be doing a lot more hiking so I need a few more items of clothing. I found a cute and comfortable hoodie that was XS so I decided to try it on. Even if you’re not an outdoors person, they make hoodies and shirts that are comfortable and breathable. Even better, they are guaranteed for life!
This particular hoodie from Outdoor Research comes in other colors as well if you’re not into the burgundy. I think I’m actually going to buy the charcoal color since it’s more of my style. It is 100% polyester which is great for moisture-wicking so even if you’re not a hiker, you may still want something like this for your own exercise, or just for comfort.
Now, I did not get a chance to try on their pants yet. However, on their website, the size chart indicates that if the pants are XS they actually do have a 24″ waist, which is hard to find with many other hiking or outdoors pants! Some of their pants, however, run in numeric sizes, and only go down to a 2 which is unfortunate.
Some of their other items are great for dual-purpose. Not an outdoors person? You still might like some of their stuff; see what you think!
